Family & Breeding
Panda bears are generally solitary, each adult has a well-defined home range which they more around regularly. Female pandas don't tolerate other females and sub-adults within the area of their range, even though they are not territorial. Encounters are rare, but they communicate fairly often, mostly through vocalization and scent marking. They mark their routes as they move around by spraying urine, clawing tree trunks and rubbing against objects.
Pandas are believed to be poor breeders.
